Paintball Players to Recreate D-Day at Skirmish

3000 PAINTBALL PLAYERS AT SKIRMISH
Skirmish
3000 or more paintball players to recreate D Day July 15 and 16 2006

Jim Thorpe, PA – The Normandy Invasion was the largest seaborne invasion in history, involving almost three million troops crossing from England to Normandy to the then German-occupied France. In a re-creation of the fateful landing on eerily still German-held beaches, Skirmish will be converting their paintball field front acreage into the coast of Normandy on July 15th and 16th.

Leading the Allies into combat will be General Rob Wood and Executive Officer Nyxx Valor. Landing crafts will disgorge US warriors from five locations for their assault across 75 yards of wide open beach-head, complete with bunkers, tanks, and disabled military helicopters. The German forces, led by General Mark Pastore and XO’s George Schaffer and Pat Freida, will be defending the shore lines in an attempt to keep the Allied troops out. Scenario players will also be able to interact with the French resistance fighters, led by Marshal “Ace” DeMedeci.

The Invasion of Normandy is a 24-hour Paintball Scenario Game. The action begins precisely at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 15th at the sound of an air-raid siren. The battle continues until 12:00 noon on Sunday, July 16th. Admission to the event is $49.00 per person and includes all necessary gear. Pre-registration before July 1st is strongly recommended. Official rules, information, and directions to the playing fields can be found at www.Skirmish.com

Skirmish has hosted The Invasion of Normandy for five years now. Every year this scenario game continues to get bigger and better. With over 3000 players expected, Skirmish has planned yet another weekend full of excitement; including a Free Friday (July 14th) Castle Night game on the World Famous Tippmann Castle field, free on-site camping, player raffle, costume contest, and huge trade show…all the big names in the paintball industry will be there!

New this year, Rob Staudinger from Trauma Paintball Central will supply Skirmish players with all their compressed air needs. He will be bringing in over 25 fill stations making for quick and easy tank filling. Skirmish will be handling Co2 fills themselves with their 12-ton custom pressure system from Bradco.
